Your guide to the amenities at Sully's Beach House

Key Information

Wifi:

Password is located on an information sheet in the kitchen/living area. 

We use Aussie Broadband for the Wifi service.

Check Out Instructions:

Please leave the house clean and tidy, placing all rubbish in the bins. Lock the sliding doors, and the double door to the deck (using bolts) and return the key to the key box in the car port.

Rubbish Collection:

There is a red lid bin (general waste) and a yellow lid bin (recycling). Council bin collection is every Monday morning with recycling collected fortnightly. Visit the Cassowary Coast Regional Council website for more information. Please place the bins on the roadside for collection on Monday morning, or on your departure.   

Facilities

Kitchen:

The kitchen is fully equipped with glassware and crockery, serving platters, pizza trays and cutter, plastic containers, salad bowls, mixing bowls, cake trays and full cooking pots, pans and utensils. There is a Nespresso machine, tea pot, coffee plunger, rice cooker, toaster and kettle, and a full range of glassware for most beverages, and a cocktail shaker. Plastic dishes and cups are available for young children. You will also find festive themed serving plates for Easter and Christmas. The upper pots and pans draw has an internal slide out draw at the top which may store pizza and other trays.

We maintain a small supply of key non perishable items to assist with your stay. Please take only what you need and donations towards helping other guests are appreciated.

Dishwasher:

A small supply of dishwashing tablets is provided and is located under the kitchen sink. The dishwasher works best on the 2:35 timed setting (this should be preloaded) with rinse aid.

BBQ:

Nothing beats a barbie on the deck at Sully’s! Gas is located under the bbq. Please clean after use and replace the cover once the BBQ is cool.  

Laundry:

There is a washing machine and dryer located in the bathroom. Please clean the dryer filter before use. You will find clothes basket, pegs, washing powder in the bathroom. The washing powder may be located on the dryer or in the drawer under the bathroom sink. There is a fold out clothes line for internal use and the full clothes line in the back yard.

Television:

The Smart TV will access most apps allowing you to stream your services.

Bedding:

There are doonas and light blankets for each bed located in the bedroom cupboards.

We provide pillows to suit all guest comfort requirements. Spare pillows and linen are available in the main bedroom walk in robe.

Comfort

First Aid Kit:

A small supply of first aid items is maintained in the overhead cupboards in the kitchen. We restock this supply intermittently and apologise if what you need is not available.

Emergency items – Torch and Vinegar:

A torch and bottle of vinegar are in the overhead cupboards in the kitchen.

Night lights:

We have two night lights which plug into electrical outlets. Please feel free to locate them around the house to suit your needs.

Dehumidifiers:

Two dehumidifiers are used during the wet season. If you find dehumidifiers in use on your arrival, please unplug and store in the main bedroom walk in robe. The cleaner will set up the dehumidifiers when doing the exit clean.

Power Tripping:

If the power supply trips and you lose power to fans and lights, you can flick the RCD switch in the main power box. The power box is located on the exterior southern wall of the house, beside the fence gate.

Cleaning equipment:

Brooms, dustpan, vacuum cleaner are available. These items move depending on guest and cleaner placement – check the main bedroom and queen bedroom robes, and the pantry.

Games

Finska:

This is everyone’s favourite beach game! Please take the box of wooden numbered sticks down the beach, or stay cool under the big tree in the front yard! 

Dixit:

This is a beautiful card story telling game. Online shopping resulted in Sully’s obtaining a German version of the game. 

We appreciate you looking after all games and placing pieces back in their boxes.

Local Facilities

Groceries:

Woolworths is located in the Wongaling Shopping Centre and is generally open Monday to Saturday from 8am. Woolworths closes at 9pm Monday to Thursday and 6pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Hours will vary over public holidays so best to check the Woolworths website.

Mission Beach Mini Mart, at Porter Promenade, North Mission Beach, is open 7 days, 7am to 7pm.

Teitzel's IGA Tully on Morris Street, Tully, is open 7 days (Monday to Friday 5am to 7pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am to 6pm).

Swimming Pool:

Mission Beach Aquatic Centre, on Kent Street (towards North Mission Beach). features a 6 lane 25 metre outdoor pool, Lagoon, Children’s Water Park as well as an Indoor Hydrotherapy Pool. Open 7 days, Monday to Friday 5.30am to 6.30pm, Saturday 8am to 4pm, Sundays & Public Holidays 10am to 4pm. 

Tennis Court:

Tennis courts are located near the Aquatic Centre, on Kent Street, (towards North Mission Beach). Look up Mission Beach Tennis club on the internet for information on court hire for non members and club activities. 

Playground and Splash Park:

There is a playground and splash park for children located at Wongaling Beach, Reid Road. Take the turn into Wheatley Road to Wongaling and follow Reid Road along until you reach the playground.

Transfer Station:

There is a waste transfer facility on Wheatley Road, Wongaling, open 7 days (closes 3pm weekdays and 1pm weekends).

Safety and Emergency

Surf Lifesaving and swimming enclosure:

Less than 1 kilometre north you will see the Surf Lifesaving hut. South Mission Beach is patrolled by lifesavers during peak periods, including Easter and Christmas school holidays. The stinger net is situated here and is deployed during stinger season (November to May).  

Weather:

Stay safe during challenging weather such as cyclones, strong winds and flooding rivers. Follow BOM and the Cassowary Coast Regional Council for updates. 

Medical Facilities:

Mission Medical is a private practice, open Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and is located next to the Pharmacy in the (Woolworths) Shopping complex at Wongaling Beach.  

Tully Medical Centre is a private practice, open weekdays.

The nearest hospital and outpatient clinic is Tully Hospital. Larger Queensland Health facilities are available in Innisfail, Ingham, Cairns and Townsville. 

Emergency Services:

Call 000 in an emergency. Ambulance, Fire and Police services are located on Webb Road, Wongaling Beach (near the school).  

CAUTION:

The waters along the North Queensland coast are home to tropical marine stingers, including Box Jellyfish, Irukandji and Blue Bottle stingers, as well as crocodiles and sharks. Please take care when swimming or exploring coastal areas, follow all local signage, and swim in the stinger net during stinger season (November to May).
